It also covers topics such as duties of a Muslim (v.177), ruling for retaliation (v.178-179), giving Sadaqah and ruling for war, wine, and orphans (v.214-242). The surah covers a variety of topics and commandments from Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ) such as enjoining fasting during Ramadan. It is also the longest Surah in the Qur’an with 286 ayat and encompassing 1/12 or 8.3% of the entire text.
Surah Baqarah is titled “the cow” from the mention of the cow in verse 67. “Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.”
